The Braves have Angels outfielder Mark Trumbo on their "radar" according to David O'Brien of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
The Braves have been in the market for a corner outfielder all offseason to fill a gap in the field left by Chipper Jones' retirement. If the Braves did acquire Trumbo, Martin Prado would move to third base with Juan Francisco either heading to the bench or to the trade market. Prado played 119 games in left field this past season but has widely been assumed to be Jones' replacement at third.
Trumbo, 26, hit .268/.317/.491 (126 OPS+) last season and has 61 home runs in his first two major-league seasons. After beginning his major-league career at first base, the Angels transitioned him to third base and then the outfield for 2012. He played 67 games in left field and 45 in right field for Los Angeles last season.
