NEW YORK -- Delmon Young didn't play for the Tigers Friday night.

Young won't play for the Tigers Saturday afternoon, either.

Just when will he play again?

Good question, one that the Tigers refused to answer late Friday, and one that still doesn't have a real answer after Saturday's announcement that Young has been placed on the restricted list. The move allows the Tigers to replace Young on the active roster, which they did by recalling Danny Worth from Triple-A Toledo.

The Tigers said that Young is on the restricted list "pending an evaluation at the beginning of the week per a provision in the Major League Baseball Basic Agreement." The new CBA provides for players involved in alcohol-related offenses to be referred to an employee assistance program.

Young was arrested in the wee hours of Friday morning, charged with misdemeanor aggravated harassment but also accused of targeting someone for his religious beliefs. According to the Associated Press, he could face up to a year in jail if convicted.

Young had apparently been drinking heavily Thursday night, to the point that police felt he needed to be hospitalized before bringing him in to face charges. The Tigers arrived at their New York hotel at about 10:30 p.m., after their flight from Detroit was delayed because of bad weather.

Young played in 18 of the Tigers' first 19 games, hitting .242 with one home run and five RBI.
