The Yankees are confident they can re-sign international star Ichiro Suzuki after his productive two-plus months in the Bronx.

Ichiro's longtime agent, Tony Attanasio, told the New York Post that Ichiro wants to return to the Yankees. New York expects to bring him back, but like some other aging greats, he'll have to take a significant cut from the $18 million he made last year. Ichiro is 39.

The Yankees paid him only $2 million for the eight weeks he spent in the Bronx. He hit .322 as a Yankee with a .794 OPS after he hit .261 with a .642 OPS for Seattle.
