Yankees RP Sergio Santos to undergo Tommy John surgery

Yankees pitcher Sergio Santos is scheduled to undergo Tommy John surgery on his right elbow, reports NJ.com.

"He had the elbow issue last year, and he chose to rehab it and it manifested this year. It's disappointing because we saw what he was capable of doing down in Florida," manager Joe Girardi said, per MLB.com. "He's heartbroken. It was difficult for him."

Santos was placed on the 60-day disabled list.
