Liking the potential and progress the team is making, the Denver Nuggets signed general manager Tim Connelly to a multi-year extension on Tuesday. Denver's front-office staff, including assistant GM Arturas Karnisovase, also signed extensions.

The Nuggets announced this signings via a press release:

"Over the past few years Tim, Arturas, and the rest of our front office staff have worked tirelessly in reshaping our roster and our entire organizational vision for the future,” said President and Governor Josh Kroenke. “Whether through the draft, trades, or free agency, we have an excellent mix of players and are extremely well positioned moving forward."

“We’re excited and honored by this opportunity to continue what we have started here in Denver,” stated Connelly. “We have a locker room full of dedicated players and staff, led by head coach Michael Malone, who look forward to winning in this great city for years to come.  As a staff we would like to thank Josh and the entire Kroenke family for their continued support; we are unbelievably fortunate to work for such committed ownership.

Connelly has been the Nuggets' GM for the last three years and although Denver has not made it to the playoffs since the 2012-13 season, it has an intriguing roster with plenty of young talent. Emmanuel Mudiay and Jusuf Nurkic look to be promising players -- both players Connelly picked in the first round. Head coach Mike Malone also seems to be a good fit for a team, another decision by the Nuggets GM.

President Josh Kroenke clearly likes what he is seeing out of the Nuggets this season and is hoping that some form of continuity with Connelly as GM will help turn Denver into a playoff contender in the future.

The Nuggets are happy to have Connelly as their GM.
