After the Oklahoma City Thunder eliminated the Dallas Mavericks from the playoffs with a 118-104 Game 5 win on Monday, a reporter asked Russell Westbrook if he was aware of Mark Cuban's comments earlier that night. Before the game, the Mavericks owner said that the Thunder had one superstar, Kevin Durant, and Westbrook was merely an All-Star.

Durant, seated next to Westbrook at the podium, stopped his co-star from even answering the question.

"He's an idiot," Durant said, referring to Cuban. "Don't listen to him. He's an idiot. That's what we got to say about that. He's an idiot."

That's one way to shut down a conversation. Don't expect Durant to consider the Mavericks in free agency this summer.

Others have already disagreed with Cuban. Dallas coach Rick Carlisle called Westbrook a superstar after the game, as did Oklahoma City coach Billy Donovan. As for Durant's comments? Well, this escalated extremely quickly.
