After enduring a year's worth of taunts and ridicule, Kevin Durant appeared to finally achieve the peace he was looking for by winning his first NBA title with the Golden State Warriors. Finally Durant can relax, enjoy his offseason and stop worrying about all the fans who made fun of him for bailing on Oklahoma City -- that's all in the past.

Well, maybe not.

After Durant left for the Warriors, he was quickly given the pejorative nickname "cupcake" from the OKC faithful thanks to a conveniently timed Instagram post from former teammate Russell Westbrook. When Durant returned to play in Oklahoma City this season, the fans embraced the nickname with cupcake signs and costumes directed toward their former beloved star.

And now, on Saturday, Durant showed up to JaVale McGee's charity softball game at the Oakland-Alameda Coliseum with some headwear that appeared to be taking a direct shot at Westbrook and the Thunder fans.

Yep, that's a cupcake ... with a championship ring in place of the cherry. Game, set, match, Mr. Durant.

It may seem a bit petty, but Durant has every right to fire back at those OKC fans who have spent countless hours of their lives figuring out how to make fun of him in clever (or not so clever) ways. This likely isn't going to silence his critics, however, and if anything they'll come back even stronger the next time Durant plays his former team.
