Kevin Durant and Nike are trying out some new tech, including basketball shoes that go all the way up the calf. You're probably having a hard time figuring out what that would look like for the Oklahoma City Thunder star.

So why the extended leg support? It provides "additional security and lockdown," via Sneaker News. The normal version has support to the ankle, but these are a prototype that goes much higher and look like he's wearing giant slipper socks. He wore his normal KD 8's vs. the Jazz Thursday night.
