After some reshuffling of their front office in recent weeks, the Atlanta Hawks have embarked on a search for a new general manager, with the Cavaliers' David Griffin reportedly one of their targets.

Per a report Friday evening from The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski, it turns out the Hawks were also after another team's executive: Portland Trail Blazers president of basketball operations Neil Olshey. According to Wojnarowski, the Hawks requested permission to speak to Olshey, but were rejected by the Trail Blazers.

Poor Hawks, not only is Olshey not going to be their new GM, they didn't even get to speak with him.

Still, as Wojnarowski notes, the Hawks are not afraid to spend and should be able to get a talented executive to take over as their new GM heading into an important offseason.
