Thirty-nine years ago, the first Star Wars film hit theaters and people fell in love with Chewbacca the Wookiee. At the end of the film, though, Han Solo's lovable, hairy co-pilot gets cheated -- while (spoiler alert!) heroes Solo and Luke Skywalker receive medals, Chewbacca does not. It's a clear case of anti-Wookiee bias.

What does this have to do with the NBA? Glad you asked. During a trip to Disneyland, Chicago Bulls center Robin Lopez and Brooklyn Nets center Brook Lopez gave Chewbacca his due. That's right, the Lopez brothers presented him with a medal:

It appears that is actually Peter Mayhew, the actor who played Chewbacca, as Robin tagged him in the photo. For a couple of huge Star Wars fans, this must be a dream come true.

As Nets Daily pointed out, Brook desperately wants to play a Wookiee in a Star Wars film -- he openly campaigned for this a couple of years ago. Perhaps the three 7-footers were discussing business.
