Here's the dilemma with Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors:

He's on pace to be the greatest 3-point shooter we've ever seen, both from a percentage and a quantity measurement. You have to defend him closely because you can't afford to let him get shots off behind the 3-point line. But if you defend him too closely, you might foul him and give him the 4-point play opportunity, which he's sure to capitalize on. 

Matt Barnes fouled Curry in the second quarter of Game 7 between the Warriors and the Los Angeles Clippers. This came a few minutes after Jamal Crawford flopped his way into a 4-point play when Draymond Green flew by him on a 3-point attempt. 

Both of these plays look like flops by the offensive player, but 4-point plays are all the rage this postseason.
