Oh no, not again.
Just a few weeks after Los Angeles Lakers forward Metta World Peace elbowed Oklahoma City Thunder guard James Harden in the head, drawing a 7-game suspension from the NBA, the two players found themselves mixed up in a somewhat ugly scene.
With the Thunder leading 98-68 with a little more than 11 minutes remaining in the fourth quarter of Game 1 of a Western Conference semifinals series, Harden fell to the floor as he attempted to box out World Peace. As Harden stumbled slightly, World Peace wrapped his right elbow over Harden's shoulder and pressed it against his head. There was contact, although not vicious contact, as Harden continued to fall to the ground, and World Peace released his arm before Harden hit the court.
World Peace departed for the Lakers locker room shortly thereafter, at the 10:08 mark, and did not return. It was not immediately known why he left the Lakers bench.
World Peace finished with 12 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal on 4-for-10 shooting in 32 minutes.
The Thunder went on to win Game 1, 119-90. Game 2 is set for Wednesday night in Oklahoma City.
