Tragedy struck Oakland on Dec. 2 when a warehouse fire killed 36 people attending an electronic music concert. In the wake of this tragedy, relief efforts are underway and aid money is being raised.

With the fire taking place right in their backyard, the Golden State Warriors are also chipping in to help. The organization donated $50,000 to the relief efforts on Dec. 3 and on Wednesday, players and coaches donated an additional $75,000, which brings their total to $125,000.

"When a tragedy of this magnitude hits this close to home, we feel it's imperative to do our small part to help our community and those impacted," Warriors president and chief operating officer Rick Welts said in the team's initial press release. "Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims, their families and friends during this incredibly difficult time."

The Warriors may be moving away from Oakland in the next few years but the city is still their home and they are doing whatever they can to help the community rebuild.
