  • Jordan Hamilton: Signs with Turkish team

Hamilton agreed to a contract Sunday with Tofaş Spor Kulubu of the Turkish Basketball First League, Sportando reports.

Hamilton saw some late-season run in 2015-16 for an injury-decimated Pelicans squad, logging 11 appearances and averaging 11.4 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.1 three-pointers in 27.6 minutes per game. He didn't score particularly efficiently, however, hitting just 42.2 percent of his attempts from the field and 28.9 percent of his three-point tries, and that likely prevented him from gaining much traction with NBA teams this offseason. Hamilton will thus try to rebuild his stock in Turkey for at least the next year as he tries to keep the NBA dream alive.

  • Pelicans' Jordan Hamilton: Expected to sign for rest of season

Hamilton is expected to sign a second 10-day contract to remain with the Pelicans for the rest of the season, John Reid of the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.

Hamilton first joined the Pelicans on March 25 and quickly established himself as a rotation option on an injury-decimated roster. He's scored double-digit points in four of his five games with the team and has started the last three contests at shooting guard. The Pelicans will keep him around for the final six games of the campaign as they careen toward the draft lottery, giving Hamilton an opportunity to showcase himself for a roster spot in 2016-17.

  • Pelicans' Jordan Hamilton: Double-double in win over Nets

Hamilton recorded a double-double with 13 points (6-11 FG, 1-3 FT, 0-3 3Pt) and a career-high 11 rebounds while adding a trio of steals in 34 minutes during Sunday's win over the Nets.

The swingman stuck int he starting five for a Pels team that has been devastated by injuries, and he scored in double-digits for the fourth time in five games with his latest club. Hamilton appears to have won a prominent place in the lineup for the end of the season, and he has flashed the ability to contribute in multiple categories now that he is seeing regular run.

  • Pelicans' Jordan Hamilton: Plays pretty well in Wednesday's start

Hamilton had 14 points (6-15 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 1-2 FT), five rebounds, four assists, and one steal in 31 minutes during the Pelicans' 100-92 loss to the Spurs on Wednesday.

Hamilton slid into the starting lineup while Luke Babbitt came off the bench. The Pelicans have been decimated by injuries, which has allowed players like Hamilton the opportunity to step up and play plenty of minutes. Hamilton was one of three Pelicans to see 30 minutes or more on Wednesday, and he could be worth a look down the stretch in leagues that put a premium on counting stats.

  • Pelicans' Jordan Hamilton: Signs 10-day with Pels

Hamilton officially signed a 10-day deal with the Pelicans on Friday.

The Pelicans received a hardship exception from the NBA, and they'll use the extra roster spot on Hamilton, a former first-round pick out of Texas. Hamilton most recently played in the D-League for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, averaging 14.9 points on 49.7 percent shooting and 9.4 rebounds through 14 games. Given New Orleans' rather dire roster situation, Hamilton could immediately step into a fairly significant role, likely off the bench.
