  • Chuck Hayes: Joins Nuggets' front office

Hayes has accepted a position in the Nuggets' front office, Mike Richman of The Oregonian reports.

After getting cut by the Clippers in training camp last fall, Hayes quickly latched on with the Rockets, but appeared in just two games before getting released in November. Hayes was unable to find work after that and appears to have retired from playing the game competitively, given his decision to work in a front office role. The 33-year-old, who forged an 11-year career in the NBA as a 6-foot-6 power forward/center, will likely have solid wisdom to impart on the Nuggets' collection of young big men.

  • Rockets' Chuck Hayes: Waived on Sunday

Hayes was waived by the Rockets on Sunday, Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports reports.

Hayes was signed by the Rockets just ten days ago, after spending the preseason with the Clippers. This could spell the end for the 32-year-old's NBA career, although he could fill in for a team lacking frontcourt depth. Hayes suffered a sprain left foot last week, which limited his play to two games this season. If this is the end for the 10-year pro, all NBA fans need to take a minute to thank Hayes for what he's brought to the game, including his stellar free throw highlights.

  • Rockets' Chuck Hayes: Plays 15 minutes Friday

Hayes (foot) played 15 minutes in Friday's win over the Kings and scored four points (1-2 FG, 2-2 FT) and picked up seven rebounds and two assists.

Hayes did turn over the ball three times and racked up four fouls in his limited playing time, but he provided solid production off the bench for a Rockets frontcourt that was without the services of Dwight Howard (rest). It was Hayes' first game since Sunday, after a sprained foot kept him on the sidelines for the Rockets' previous two contests.

  • Rockets' Chuck Hayes: Likely to play limited minutes Monday

Hayes (foot) says his foot isn't 100%, but can still play spot minutes Monday, Mark Berman of Fox 26 KRIV reports.

With injuries to Donatas Montiejunas and Terrence Jones, the Rockets have have been dealing with a limited frontcourt early on this season. Any type of minutes Hayes can provide will be helpful for the team. He also has the opportunity to potentially earn more minutes while Montiejunas and Jones are out.

  • Rockets' Chuck Hayes: Questionable Monday against Thunder

Hayes (foot) is questionable for Monday's meeting with the Thunder, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Hayes was signed by the team for extra insurance in a banged up Rockets frontcourt, but now, with Hayes dealing with a sprained left foot of his own, the team is light on frontcourt depth. Rookie Montrezl Harrell could be in line for even more minutes if Hayes is not ready to go.

  • Rockets' Chuck Hayes: Signs with Rockets

Hayes signed with the Rockets on Sunday, Calvin Watkins of ESPN reports.

Hayes spent the preseason with the Clippers, before being waived at the final cuts. He'll now head to the Rockets, where he'll immediately fill in as frontcourt depth behind the likes of Dwight Howard, Clint Capela and Terrence Jones. With Donatas Motiejunas still out with a back injury, Hayes provides some extra insurance. Hayes spent the 2014-15 season with the Raptors, playing in 29 games, while averaging 1.7 points, 1.6 rebounds and 0.7 assists over nine minutes. He'll likely see similar minutes in Houston and should remain very limited in his potential fantasy impact.

  • Clippers' Chuck Hayes: Waived on Saturday

Hayes was waived on Saturday, Dan Woike of the Orange County Register reports.

Hayes was one of the final cuts made by the Clippers, as the team opted to go with versatility in Luc Richard Mbah a Moute rather than another center. The 32-year-old did get some interest from other teams in the offseason, but it remains to be seen which teams will make a move with most rosters solidified to start the season.
