If you don't know Bears guard Kyle Long, this story will serve as the perfect introduction to Bears guard Kyle Long. He's not only one of the best guards in the league, he's also one of the most entertaining.

A quick example: Last week, he compared Jay Cutler to Neo from The Matrix.

On Wednesday, Long came through -- again -- with one of the best quotes you'll see in the offseason. All he did was describe what it's like to block a teammate who wears cologne.

The cologne-wearer: Danny Trevathan, a newcomer to the Bears. The former Broncos linebacker, according to Long, smells so nice during practice that it's distracting. I'll stop dancing around the topic and let Long explain.

Via CBS Chicago:

"He's one of those guys that kind of has an aura about him," Long said. "He walks in with all his chains on, he looks sharp every day like he just left a video shoot. You see him on the field and you block him, and he kind of smells good, he wears cologne. But then you get caught up in the aroma and you get hit in the chin and you get hit under the chin. And if you do get your hands on him to block him, he will fight like a crazy SOB to get off you."

Scent aside, Trevathan's addition might help the Bears right the ship after two sub-.500 seasons. He led the Broncos' historically dominant defense in total tackles last year and should fit in Vic Fangio's 3-4 scheme perfectly. He'll also be paired alongside Jerrell Freeman -- a premier run defender -- and situated behind a revamped defensive line, which means he won't be forced to shoulder the entire load.

Even if Trevathan's presence doesn't result in a playoff berth, at least he'll go down as perhaps the best-smelling linebacker in the league. You might scoff at that title, but it clearly impacted a Pro Bowl guard during practice.

That has to mean something, right?
