At the end of last month, Bills legend Jim Kelly provided an optimistic update on his health, saying he felt "awesome." After a brief scare on Thursday, Kelly, who's been cancer free for nearly two years, appears to still have his health.

On Thursday, Kelly's wife provided an alarming update. According to an Instagram post, Kelly's last cancer scan was inconclusive.

So, he underwent a biopsy.

Thankfully, he got the all-clear from doctors.

As CBS Sports' Jared Dubin wrote last month, Kelly's recovery from his 2013 cancer diagnosis hasn't been easy, but he's managed to fight off multiple medical issues in the past few years:

It wasn't all that long ago that Jim Kelly was fighting for his life. He was dropping weight and looking sickly, undergoing chemo treatments and surgery to treat the cancer that was attacking his body. Kelly was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma in 2013, and a year later contracted MRSA his bones, shortly after having been declared cancer-free. Now, almost two years after that cancer-free diagnosis, Kelly is back to working at football camps, and feeling really good.

Kelly, a Hall of Famer, led the Bills to four consecutive Super Bowls in the early '90s and remains arguably the most important figure in the team's history, orchestrating the K-Gun and turning the no-huddle offense into one of most feared weapons in the NFL. In Kelly's career, he threw for 35,467 yards and 237 touchdowns.
