The wife of Bills punter Brian Moorman has written a psychological thriller, and he’s not afraid to admit this: Amber Moorman’s book frightened him.

"Let's just say we don't speak that way around the house," a laughing Moorman told the Buffalo News. "And, to be honest, the first time I read it I was, like, 'Whoa!' It scared me a little. I said 'I'm married to you?' ”

This isn’t Amber’s first attempt at penning a book. She also wrote a children’s book that was never published, but Brian Moorman still carried that work around with him whenever he read to school kids.

He probably won’t be doing that for her latest work, The Survivor’s Game (it’s an e-book you can purchase right here). Apparently, the three reviewers on Amazon.com love it -- each has given the book five stars.

"It's a story that lived in my head and needed to be on paper," she told the newspaper.

As the Amazon book description notes, "The Survivor’s Game is a character-driven psychological drama of 110,000 words. It takes place in a college town in the heartland, one of the safest places in America. Jack Culney followed the rules when his wife was being stalked. But the letter of the law couldn’t protect her. This time around, he uses those same laws to his advantage.”

So, if you’re into that kind of thing, check out a first-time author who’s selling her book for less than $3.

"I think it's harder for somebody to find an agent in the literary world than it is to make it in the NFL," Brian Moorman said. "That's saying a lot. We used everything we could use, asking people who knew people. We didn't have much luck. So we decided to put it out there ourselves.

"I'm proud of her. She worked really hard on it. I've read it twice because it just blows me away. I didn't know she had it in her."
