Despite tearing his ACL in each of his knees over the last two years, Eagles linebacker Travis Long is close to being the player he was before suffering the injries, reports ESPN.com.

"He's really right back to where he was," coach Chip Kelly said. "He’s really contributing well on special teams and he's making a push toward outside linebacker right now."

Long tore his right ACL during his senior season in college in 2013 and then tore his left ACL in the final preseason game last season, but he said the injuries will not prevent him from making a comeback.

"It was really tough," Long said. "Initially, I was like, do I really want to do this again? But that subsided really quick. I knew I wanted to play football still. I still haven’t been out there on a Sunday yet. I still have that desire. I’ve got to do that."
