Though he’ll turn 34 years old before next season, that doesn’t mean, in defensive end John Abraham’s mind, he wasn’t worth the $12 million per year he hoped to discover in free agency.

Did it sound absurd? Of course, and though I imagine he didn’t get that figure -- or most likely even get particularly close to that number -- Abraham has parlayed his success into a three-year contract with the Falcons, the team announced Friday.

Abraham, the 28th-ranked player in our free agent rankings, combined for 22.5 sacks combined in the past two seasons, and though his playing time has diminished (he’s not out there a ton on running downs), he still has plenty to contribute.
