Will Stroud be healthy enough to attempt his comeback and will anyone want him? (US Presswire)
The last we heard from three-time Pro Bowler Marcus Stroud, he was trying to win a job in New England after successful tenures in Buffalo and Jacksonville. His mission with the Patriots: resurrect his career.

"This definitely gives me a chance to go out and play and prove that I still got a lot of good years of football left," Stroud said 12 months ago."I know how to play ball, and I know I still got a lot of good ball left."

Thanks to the lockout, though, the defensive lineman couldn't rehab his surgically-repaired shoulder at the team facility, and in July, the Patriots released him. Stroud was out of a job and probably out of football.

Except that's not a good enough conclusion for Stroud, who told Sirius XM NFL radio (via Fox Sports) that he planned on making a comeback for the 2012 season.

Currently, the 34-year-old said he's 60 percent healthy, though he plans to be completely ready to go by June. The only problem: who wants to sign a guy in his mid-30s who hasn't played in a year and who is coming off a bad injury? Especially when you consider what one NFL analyst had to say about the state of free agency.

Not a great sign obviously for Stroud and his comeback desires.
