Tim Tebow is a free agent again. The NFL's most polarizing figure, released on Saturday by New England after an unsuccessful preseason attempt to crack the Patriots depth chart, cleared waivers on Sunday, CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora reports.

That means no one wanted Tebow, and that's no surprise. Any of the 32 teams can still sign the quarterback but that looks pretty unlikely now. As La Canfora notes, it's quite possible Tebow's NFL career is over, with television or the ministry possibly becoming avenues for future employment.

There's also still Canada -- La Canfora reports that the Montreal Alouettes own Tebow's rights north of the border and there could be some interest there.

Yikes.

It's amazing just how fast and how far Tebow has fallen. Counting him out completely would be somewhat foolish, but at this point it wouldn't be surprising at all if we didn't see him on an NFL field ever again.
