SAN FRANCISCO -- A year ago, Todd Gurley was recovering from a knee injury that cut cut his junior season at Georgia. On Saturday night at NFL Honors, the Rams running back won the 2015 Offensive Rookie of the Year after rushing 229 times for 1,106 yards (4.8 yards per carry) and 10 touchdowns.

"This award means a lot to me, especially after coming off the ACL injury a year ago. lt's a gift from God," Gurley told the media after winning the award.

Gurley ranked fourth among all running backs, according to Football Outsiders' efficiency metric, and he virtually carried the Rams offense on his back; the passing offense ranked 31st while the rushing offense was 14th.

Gurley made his way to the stage at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium to accept the award. Before he left, he offered these words to Rams fans:

"I know y'all might be disappointed ... but it's out of our control," he said of the Rams leaving St. Louis. "We're gonna be in L.A. next so hopefully we'll make some noise out there."
