Louisville product and first-round prospect Teddy Bridgewater made a promise to his mother when he was 9 years old, and sitting days away from realizing his dream of being drafted into the NFL, the quarterback can now make good on that promise.
The moving seven-minute documentary about Bridgewater's upbringing directed by Spike Lee, explores his “personality, his attitude, his demeanor,” as described by his Miami high school principal.
The piece goes into how his coaches discovered Bridgewater’s arm, but more importantly, it focuses on the inseparable relationship he has with his mother, Rose Murphy, who was diagnosed with breast cancer.
“My mindset was that my mom was gonna die, so I didn’t want to lose my mom. She was my best friend, she’s always been there for me.”
Now two days away from the NFL draft, Bridgewater was able to fufill that long-time promise.
