McClellan is just one of the walking wounded among Jets' linebackers, as C.J. Mosley (groin) has been ruled out while Neville Hewitt (neck) is considered doubtful. McClellan signed a contract with the Jets on Saturday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
McClellan signs with the Jets on the heels of Avery Williamson (knee) being placed on IR. McClellan will provide the team with added linebacker depth, but his largest contributions will likely come on special teams. In 13 games last season, he played 261 special teams snaps compared to just 33 defensive snaps, recording seven total tackles in the process.

McClellan's release comes as a bit of a surprise after he started at middle linebacker during the Ravens' third preseason tilt, though he was slated to provide C.J. Mosley with depth throughout the regular season. A season-ending knee injury cost the 32-year-old his 2017 campaign, but he racked up 55 tackles on 603 defensive snaps in 2016.
