Robinson was released by the Panthers on Friday.
Robinson was signed in May and was fighting for a depth role in the Panthers' receiving corps. It doesn't come as much of a surprise, as Robinson is yet to eclipse 400 receiving yards in a single season since entering the NFL in 2011.

Panthers' Aldrick Robinson: Catches touchdown in win
Robinson caught his lone target for a 34-yard touchdown in Thursday night's 25-19 preseason win over the Steelers.
Robinson connected with rookie quarterback Will Grier for a score with under two minutes remaining in the first half. Considering that was just his third catch of the preseason, it may not be enough for Robinson to earn a roster spot ahead of the regular season, but he at least gave Carolina something to consider.

Panthers' Aldrick Robinson: Healthy for camp
Robinson (hamstring) is practicing at training camp, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports.
Robinson seems to have moved past the hamstring injury that cropped up during June minicamp. He'll still need to battle for a roster spot, competing for backup work with Jarius Wright, Chris Hogan (back), Torrey Smith and Rashad Ross. The Panthers should have open competition for wideout roles behind presumed starters D.J. Moore and Curtis Samuel.

Panthers' Aldrick Robinson: Exits minicamp with injury
Robinson appeared to injure his right hamstring during Wednesday's minicamp practice, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Charlotte Observer reports.
According to Rodrigue, Robinson went down hard while running a route and had to limp off to the sidelines. The receiver was later seen with a bag of ice strapped to his leg, but Robinson didn't need to leave the field. It's possible the 30-year-old could be held out for the remainder of minicamp with the intention of preparing him for the start of training camp in late July.

Panthers' Aldrick Robinson: Inks deal with Carolina
Robinson signed a one-year deal with the Panthers on Friday, Max Henson of the Panthers' official site reports.
Robinson spent 2018 in Minnesota and caught 17 passes for 231 yards and set a career high with five touchdowns. The 30-year-old has never eclipsed 400 receiving yards in a season and is likely to serve as a low-volume big-play threat if he manages to make the 53-man roster.

Aldrick Robinson: Still available in free agency
Robinson remains unsigned as an unrestricted free agent, Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Robinson is actually one of the better wide receivers left in a thin market, coming off a 2018 campaign with 17 catches for 231 yards and five touchdowns on 35 targets in 14 games for the Vikings. He's typically struggled when tasked with a large workload, but his career stat line -- 16.5 yards per catch, 14 TDs among 86 receptions -- suggests he can give an offense a boost as a big-play weapon from the No. 4 receiver role. Granted, the 30-year-old doesn't offer much value on special teams, and his career catch rate (47.8 percent) reflects the all-or-nothing nature of his contributions on offense. Potential fits include Houston, Green Bay, Baltimore, Kansas City and Minnesota.

Vikings' Aldrick Robinson: Held catchless in season finale
Robinson failed to catch any of his four targets during Sunday's 24-10 loss to the Bears.
Held without a catch for the second straight week, Robinson finishes up the season with 17 receptions for 231 yards and five touchdowns. The 30-year-old's ridiculous 17:5 reception-to-touchdown ratio is indicative of his success on designed plays, but Robinson failed to make much of an impact outside of such situations. Set to become a free agent this offseason, it's conceivable that the Vikings could elect to re-sign Robinson as a situational wideout for 2019.

Vikings' Aldrick Robinson: Catchless in Detroit
Robinson was unable to snag either of his targets during Sunday's 27-9 win over the Lions.
Sunday represented Robinson's second catchless game in three weeks after just two such performances in his first 10 outings of the season. It's not easy to see things getting much better for Robinson. New offensive coordinator Kevin Stefanski has pledged to be more run-heavy with the Vikings' offense and, through two games, Minnesota is throwing it 42 percent less than they had under John DeFilippo. To top it off, Minnesota draws a Chicago defense in Week 17 that has frustrated opposing passing attacks all season, though Robinson did reel in a touchdown grab against them in Week 11.

Vikings' Aldrick Robinson: Hauls in touchdown pass
Robinson recorded two catches on two targets for 44 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 41-17 win over the Dolphins.
Robinson was effective during his 15 offensive snaps, as his 44 receiving yards ended up being a season high for the veteran. This came despite quarterback Kirk Cousins completing just 14 passes in Sunday's rout. Robinson has just 17 catches on the year, though five of them have gone for touchdowns.

Vikings' Aldrick Robinson: Little playing time Monday
Robinson did not have a reception and was targeted just once in Monday's loss at Seattle.
Minnesota struggled on offense most of the game which limited targets for most of the receiving corps and especially the secondary options. After looking like he may take over the third receiver role, he played less than Laquon Treadwell (30 snaps on offense for Treadwell compared to 13 for Robinson). Robinson could get a larger role if Minnesota's new offensive coordinator decides to reduce Treadwell's playing time after frequent drops this season, although the offense has few targets for receivers outside of Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs.

Vikings' Aldrick Robinson: Draws nine targets
Robinson caught five of nine targets for 37 yards in Sunday's 24-10 loss to the Patriots.
Robinson played 43 of 61 snaps (70 percent) on offense, while Laquon Treadwell was limited to two targets on 22 snaps. Treadwell's consistent failure to contribute in the passing game seems to have opened up an opportunity for Robinson to work as the No. 3 receiver when the Vikings need to throw the ball in a comeback effort. The team does still appear to place some value on Treadwell's work as a blocker.

Robinson caught one of two targets for 11 yards during Sunday's 27-20 victory over the Packers.
Robinson wound up logging more offensive snaps (14) than Laquon Treadwell before halftime, but with Minnesota maintaining a lead in the second half, it was the blocking-proficient Treadwell who saw most of the action alongside Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen in three-wideout formations. That usage pattern at least suggests that Minnesota may be more inclined to roll with Robinson in clear passing situations, which could make the 30-year-old a sneaky deep sleeper in Week 13, when the Vikings will likely be road underdogs in a matchup with the Patriots.

Robinson had two receptions for 24 yards, including a 13-yard touchdown, in Sunday's loss at Chicago.
Robinson played just eight snaps on offense, but continues to display big-play capabilities with his fourth touchdown on just nine receptions. He had a large decline in snaps on offense with Stefon Diggs back from a rib injury after playing 17 and 26 the prior two games, however, so it may not be a good bet for his touchdown prowess to continue.

Vikings' Aldrick Robinson: Expecting more playing time Week 9
Robinson is preparing for a larger role with Stefon Diggs (ribs) in danger of missing Sunday's game against the Lions, Andrew Krammer of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Robinson dropped a hint that Diggs isn't expected to suit up, likely leaving the Vikings without a player who has accounted for 10.6 targets and 60.8 snaps per game for the season. No. 3 wide receiver Laquon Treadwell is an obvious candidate to take on some of the volume, but the Vikings would also need Robinson to step into a role in three-wideout formations if Diggs is sidelined. The 30-year-old has caught just 46.8 percent of his 158 career targets, making up for it with 12 touchdowns and an average of 17.4 yards on 74 receptions, including three scores among five catches in 2018. If nothing else, Robinson makes for a passable boom-or-bust option in deep fantasy leagues.
