Ejiofor sustained a torn anterior cruciate ligament at Friday's practice session, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports. It's a tough break for Ejiofor, who was coming back from a torn Achilles' injury after missing the entire 2019 season. "It will be a long rehab for him, but he'll be back. We'll place him on IR in the next couple of days," said head coach Bill O'Brien. The 2018 sixth-round draft pick appeared in 12 games as rookie, recording nine tackles, a sack and one fumble recovery in 158 defensive snaps.... See More ... See Less

Texans' Duke Ejiofor: Practices fully Wednesday
Ejiofor (shoulder) was a full participant at practice Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports. Ejiofor missed the last two games with the shoulder injury, but his full participation Wednesday illustrates he's ready to return for Week 13. The 23-year-old should resume his rotational role at outside linebacker behind Jadeveon Clowney.... See More ... See Less -
Texans' Duke Ejiofor: Will not play Sunday
Ejiofor (shoulder) has been downgraded from questionable to out for Sunday's matchup with the Redskins. Ejiofor was originally called questionable for Sunday, but will not travel with the team to Washington D.C. This will mark the first game Ejiofor has missed since Week 1.... See More ... See Less -
Texans' Duke Ejiofor: Questionable to return
Ejiofor is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Broncos due to a shoulder injury. Ejiofor exited Sunday's tilt against Denver during the first half. If the rotational linebacker is unable to return to the field, Josh Keyes and Brennan Scarlett should receive an increased defensive workload.... See More ... See Less -
Texans' Duke Ejiofor: Active as a rusher in Week 2
Ejiofor had three tackles and one sack in Sunday's 20-17 loss to the Titans in Week 2. Ejiofor made his NFL debut Sunday after sitting out last week's opener against the Patriots due to a hamstring injury. He got more snaps than anticipated with Jadeveon Clowney (back) inactive and was used primarily in passing situations. He came close to a second sack when he flushed Tennessee's Blaine Gabbert out of the pocket.... See More ... See Less -
Texans' Duke Ejiofor: Will play Sunday
Ejiofor (hamstring) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Titans. Ejiofor was limited earlier in the week with a hamstring issue, having missed Week 1 due to the same ailment. He's slated to see an increased role at outside linebacker across from Whitney Mercilus with Jadeveon Clowney (back) sidelined.... See More ... See Less -
Texans' Duke Ejiofor: Inactive Week 1
Ejiofor (hamstring) won't play in Sunday's regular-season opener against the Patriots. Ejiofor was limited in practice throughout the week leading to his questionable status prior to Sunday's game. Look for Brennan Scarlett and Peter Kalambayi to see some extra snaps while Ejiofor remains sidelined.... See More ... See Less -
Texans' Duke Ejiofor: Shows off early Saturday
Ejifor (shoulder) had two special-teams tackles and one more on defense in Saturday's preseason win over San Francisco. Ejiofor had a big hit on the game's first play, registering a tackle on the kickoff, then followed up two plays later with a tackle for a five-yard loss. His effort Saturday coupled with his three quarterback hits in last week's game against the Chiefs puts him in line for playing time should injuries hit Houston's elite outside linebackers Jadeveon Clowney or Whitney Mercilus....
