  • Andre Davis : Released by Bucs on Sunday

Davis was released by the Bucs on Sunday, Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Davis was the first of what will be several wideouts to be let go off the Bucs roster, given that it has been one of the more crowded positions on the team's depth chart this summer. The USF product saw only one target in Friday's preseason tilt versus the Browns and had played sparingly overall in preseason. He'd signed with Tampa following their post-draft minicamp after spending his rookie season on the Bills' practice squad.

  • Buccaneers' Andre Davis : Makes impressive grab Saturday

Davis made an impressive one-handed grab in Saturday's practice, Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

The USF product is trying to make enough of an impression to crack a crowded receiver depth chart, and has made a few eye-catching plays early in camp, including Saturday's acrobatic catch over the middle. Davis has yet to play in a pro game but put together an impressive college career, amassing 153 receptions for 2,136 yards and 17 touchdowns over 30 starts for the Bulls over four college seasons. He spent his rookie career with the Bills, and was signed most recently by the Bucs in early May following their post-draft minicamp.

  • Buccaneers' Andre Davis : Re-signed by Bucs on Sunday

The Bucs have re-signed Davis following their weekend minicamp, Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

The University of South Florida product had been released 10 days prior, but did enough to impress during the three days of practice over the weekend to warrant a return. His renewed opportunity stemmed from Kutztown receiver Anthony Kelly having to miss minicamp due to an injury. Davis had two separate stints on the Bucs' practice squad in 2015, and faces a rather steep climb up the wide receiver depth chart if he's to stick on the 53-man roster come September.

  • Andre Davis : Waived by Bucs on Friday

The Bucs waived Davis on Friday, Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

The 22-year-old USF product was one of eight players waived on Friday, as the Bucs work on creating room for the signing of undrafted free agents after the conclusion of the draft on Saturday. Davis had signed a futures contract with Tampa in January, after having been waived by the Bills in their next-to-last cutdown at the end of last year's training camp.
