Darius Jennings: Cut by Chargers
The Chargers released Jennings (leg) on Friday, Jeff Miller of the Los Angeles Times reports.
This could be construed as optimism for the availability of Mike Williams (shoulder) in Week 1, but Jennings was on the bubble anyway after the Chargers drafted Joe Reed and K.J. Hill in April. If Jennings can get healthy, he could find another roster that needs depth and a potential return man.

Chargers' Darius Jennings: Exits scrimmage Sunday
Jennings left Sunday's scrimmage with an apparent leg injury, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.
If Jennings has a serious injury, it will mainly hurt the Chargers' depth at wide receiver. There's an open competition for the No. 3 wideout role behind Keenan Allen and Mike Williams (shoulder) -- although Jalen Guyton is leading the charge -- but there could be more opportunities if Williams is forced to miss any time. Jennings will seek a swift recovery to capture some of those reps.

Chargers' Darius Jennings: Joins Chargers
Agent Ed Wasielewski announced Saturday via Twitter that Jennings signed a contract with the Chargers.
The 27-year-old appeared in eight games for the Titans in 2019 and was a restricted free agent, but the team apparently declined to tender him a contract for 2020. Jennings averaged 31.7 yards on 22 kick returns during the 2018 campaign with Tennessee, and that could be his likeliest path toward a roster spot in Los Angeles.

Titans' Darius Jennings: Two stints in Tennessee
Jennings recorded two receptions on five targets for 17 yards across eight games for the Titans in 2019. He also returned nine kickoffs for a total of 196 yards.
Jennings had served as the team's primary kick returner in past seasons but was surpassed by Kalif Raymond in 2019. As a result, Jennings was cut loose by the team late in October, only to be picked up again prior to Week 17. Jennings will enter the offseason as a restricted free agent, meaning the Titans will have the opportunity to tender him a contract to keep him on the roster.

Jennings was out of the loop in Week 1 but recorded his first catch of the season in Week 2. Jennings is also being mentioned as the favorite for the No. 6 slot on a receiver depth chart headlined by Corey Davis, Adam Humphries and A.J. Brown. However, Tennessee isn't guaranteed to even carry than many wideouts, making Jennings far from a lock to make the team out of training camp. Other depth receivers such as Cameron Batson have reportedly had impressive offseasons and still have plenty of time to bump Jennings from his perch.

Jennings hauled in three of his five targets for 17 yards in Sunday's 33-17 loss to the Colts.
Jennings hauled in three passes for the second consecutive game, doubling his receiving output from the first 15 contests of the season. However, that didn't translate to much fantasy value, as he turned those six catches into only 46 yards. He's found more of a niche as a kick returner -- a role he retained all season for the Titans -- though that increases his value in a limited number of fantasy formats. Under contract through 2019, Jennings will likely retain that role next season, though the team will seemingly hope to limit his role as a receiver with Corey Davis, Taywan Taylor and Tajae Sharpe the most likely players to man three-receiver sets.

Jennings' three targets and receptions both represented season bests and his highest total in a game since 2015. Still best known for his prowess as a kick returner, he maintains no fantasy value as he has tallied only eight receptions for 84 yards through 16 games.
