Bohringer spent the 2019 season on Cincinnati's practice squad before signing a reserve/future contract following the season. When he was selected by the Vikings in 2017, he became the first international player ever drafted without playing collegiate football, but he ultimately did not make the roster. His quest to suit up for an NFL game will continue in 2020, though not with the Bengals.

Boehringer was signed by the Bengals on Tuesday, Nick Shook of NFL.com reports.
The 2016 sixth-round pick has spent the last two seasons on the Vikings' practice squad, but without a regular-season game under his belt, he'll look for a fresh start with the Bengals. The German wideout is part of the league's International Player Pathway program, which allows players from overseas to be on an NFL roster until the end of training camp. Standing at 6-foot-4, 227 pounds, and running a 4.43 40-yard dash at Florida Atlantic's 2016 pro day, Boehringer holds the raw talent to make an NFL roster, and it'll be up to the Bengals to convert that into a 53-man asset.

Bohringer has been waived by the Vikings and is not a candidate for the practice squad, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
The German wideout was selected in the sixth round last year, becoming the first player to get drafted into the NFL without playing college football. However, it doesn't sound like he's made much progress and the Vikings are moving on.

Vikings' Moritz Boehringer: Showing improvement ahead of camp
Vikings coach Mike Zimmer said Boehringer is much improved, ESPN.com's Ben Goessling reports. "His routes are much better," Zimmer said. "[Wide receivers coach] Darrell Hazell is doing a good job with him. He's catching the ball better and has a better understanding of the offense. He is still a ways away, but he has improved a lot."
The German wideout was selected in the sixth round last year, becoming the first player to get drafted into the NFL without playing college football. It sounds as if he still has a ways to go after spending last season on the practice squad, but his impressive athletic metrics could persuade the Vikings to give him another year to develop, be it on the practice squad or the 53-man roster. Boehringer is a long shot to have any impact on offense this season.

Boehringer was signed to the Vikings practice squad, NFL Network's Andrew Siciliano reports.
A workout superstar, Boehringer recorded a 4.43 40-yard dash and 39-inch vertical -- checking in at 6-4, 227 pounds -- at Florida Atlantic University's pro day in March. Even with those measurables, the 22-year-old German was always a better bet for the practice squad than the active roster, as his competition overseas didn't compare to NCAA Division 1 football.

Vikings' Moritz Boehringer: Fails to make a catch in preseason debut
Bohringer failed to catch his only target in Friday's preseason win over the Bengals. "It's faster here (in the NFL)," Bohringer told the St. Paul Pioneer Press. "I think it's still not too fast for me. I can adjust. It just needs time."
Bohringer was a 2016 sixth-round draft pick out of Germany. He's had a steep learning curve in training camp and it seems unlikely he'll make the final 53-man roster. He'll likely be a developmental project on the practice squad.
