If you're already upset with NHL discipline this probably isn't going to make you any happier.

The NHL announced on Monday that Ottawa Senators forward Zenon Konopka has been fired $2,500, while the organization was fined an additional $10,000, for Konopka's actions prior to Saturday's game in New York. What was the action you ask? Konopka directed "verbal abuse" toward a New York Rangers player while said player was doing a live pre-game interview on television.

The $2,500 fine is the largest the league can issue to a player for an on-ice incident.

If you're keeping score at home, that's the same punishment Shea Weber receied for smashing Henrik Zetterberg's face into the glass last week. And then the Ottawa organization received an additional punishment on top of that.
