    Schanuel was a late scratch from the lineup ahead of Friday's 5-4 loss and he'll once again take a seat Saturday. Willie Calhoun will slot in a first base for a second straight game, batting fourth against Seattle.

    Bauers isn't in the Brewers' lineup for Saturday's game against the White Sox.

    The White Sox will send left-hander Garrett Crochet to the mound to start Saturday's contest, meaning the lefty-hitting Bauers will watch the beginning of the game from the dugout. Rhys Hoskins will start at first base, with Christian Yelich in left field and Gary Sanchez in as the DH.

    Gallo isn't in the Nationals' lineup for Saturday's game agianst Cleveland.

    Following an 0-for-3 performance in the first game of the series Friday, Gallo will take a seat Saturday despite the Guardians sending right-hander Ben Lively to the mound. Joey Meneses will take on first base duties instead and bat fifth.

    White Sox's Andrew Vaughn: Nursing injured finger

    Vaughn is dealing with a sprained left ring finger, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.

    Vaughn was set to be absent from Chicago's starting lineup again Saturday and manager Pedro Grifol announced that the 26-year-old is dealing with the finger injury. Grifol said Vaughn will miss 3-to-5 days, with Saturday's contest being the third.

    Rangers' Nathaniel Lowe: On bench versus lefty

    Lowe is not in the starting lineup Saturday against the Marlins.

    Lowe will get a day off as Texas faces left-hander Ryan Weathers on Saturday. Ezequiel Duran will replace him at first base and bat fifth versus Miami.

    Athletics' J.D. Davis: Remains on bench

    Davis is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's matchup with Atlanta.

    Davis will remain on the bench for the fourth consecutive contest Saturday. He appears to have fallen out of favor as the primary option at first base with Oakland. Aledmys Diaz will draw the start first and bat eighth against Atlanta.

    Vaughn will remain on the bench for a second game in a row Saturday. Gavin Sheets will draw another start at first base and bat fifth against Milwaukee.

    Cronenworth went 2-for-5 with a double, a run and three RBI in an 11-8 win over Kansas City on Friday.

    Cronenworth was a key part of San Diego's nine-run eighth inning, knocking in the first two runs of the frame with a single and capping the outburst with an RBI double. The pair of base knocks were much-needed for the second baseman, as he had just one hit over his previous 14 at-bats prior to the big inning. Cronenworth slashed .265/.315/.461 with four homers, 18 RBI, nine runs and a stolen base over 26 games in May.

  • Astros' Jon Singleton: Sitting Saturday

    Singleton is not in the lineup Saturday versus Minnesota.

    Singleton will head to the bench after he went 1-for-4 with a strikeout in Friday's 6-1 loss. Jose Abreu will replace him at first base and bat eighth against the Twins.

  • Diamondbacks' Christian Walker: Homers in loss

    Walker went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Friday's 10-9 loss to the Mets.

    Walker hit the second of a back-to-back home runs in the ninth inning -- he followed Joc Pederson's three-run blast -- but they weren't enough to erase Arizona's five-run deficit. The home run was Walker's team-leading 11th to go along with a team-high 34 RBI. He's hit safely in eight of nine games, going 11-for-35 with six extra-base hits (three homers), four RBI and six runs scored.
