Carson Kelly C | DET
Tigers' Carson Kelly: On bench Tuesday
Kelly is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Pirates.

Joey Bart C | PIT
Pirates' Joey Bart: Moves to injured list
Bart (thumb) was placed on the 10-day injured list Tuesday, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com reports.
The 27-year-old was lifted from Sunday's matchup against Atlanta due to the injury and will now be sidelined for at least the next week and a half, though the severity of the injury remains unclear. Grant Koch was called up from Triple-A Indianapolis and will serve as Yasmani Grandal's backup while Bart is unavailable.

Francisco Alvarez C | NYM
Mets' Francisco Alvarez: Cleared for rehab assignment
Mets manager Carlos Mendoza said Tuesday that Alvarez (thumb) will begin a rehab assignment with Double-A Binghamton on Thursday, Jorge Castillo of ESPN.com reports.
Mendoza offered that Alvarez will catch 5-to-7 innings in his first game with Binghamton and build up from there. Alvarez is five weeks removed from undergoing surgery to repair a torn UCL in his left thumb. He was given an eight-week timetable to return following the operation, but the young catcher would appear to have a good shot to beat that timeline.

Jose Trevino C | NYY
Yankees' Jose Trevino: Not starting Tuesday
Yankees manager Aaron Boone said in an interview on Jomboy Media's "Talkin' Yanks" podcast that Trevino will not be in the lineup for Tuesday's game versus the Angels.
He's started 12 games to Austin Wells' 13 starts at catcher this month, although Wells' start Tuesday will be his fifth in the last seven contests. Wells also holds a slight edge on playing time overall this season, with 30 starts to Trevino's 26 starts.

Francisco Alvarez C | NYM
Mets' Francisco Alvarez: Looking good in batting practice
Alvarez (thumb) was reaching exit velocities over 100 miles per hour during batting practice over the weekend, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.
The 22-year-old catcher is still wearing a splint on his surgically repaired thumb, however, and the Mets aren't going to rush him back from the 10-day injured list. The team may also use his recovery period to have him work on his positioning behind the plate, as Alvarez has a tendency to be overeager reaching for pitches and is susceptible to getting his glove hand smacked by a swing. Alvarez was batting .236 (13-for-55) with one home run and eight RBI through 16 games when he was injured in mid-April.

Sean Murphy C | ATL
Braves' Sean Murphy: Drives in run in return
Murphy went 1-for-4 with an RBI in Monday's loss to the Nationals.
Seeing his first MLB action since Opening Day, Murphy hit fifth in the order and brought home Marcell Ozuna with a groundout in the seventh inning. With Ronald Acuna (knee) lost for the season, Atlanta needs Murphy to quickly regain the form that saw him set career highs with 21 homers and an .843 OPS in 2023.

Yainer Diaz C | HOU
Astros' Yainer Diaz: Absent from lineup
Diaz is absent from the lineup for Monday's contest in Seattle.
Victor Caratini will do the catching for Framber Valdez. Diaz -- who had started the last three games and five of the last six -- has just a .501 OPS in May.

Jason Delay C | PIT
Pirates' Jason Delay: Moving rehab up to Triple-A
Delay (knee) has been transferred to Triple-A Indianapolis to continue his rehab assignment, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com reports.
Delay had been at Single-A Bradenton, where he was hitless with one walk in his lone game. The 29-year-old is coming back from meniscus surgery on his right knee and could be need by the big club, depending on the status of Joey Bart (thumb).
