X-rays on Pasquantino's lower left leg came back negative after he collided with Byron Buxton during Tuesday's game against the Twins.

Pasquantino had to come out of the game after taking a knee to the shin in the third inning, but he appears to have escaped the incident with no more than a bruise. The Royals are officially listing the 26-year-old first baseman as day-to-day, though he may sit out a game or two as a precaution.

Pasquantino was removed from Tuesday's game against the Twins due to an apparent leg injury, Bobby Nightengale of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Pasquantino came up limping after a collision with Byron Buxton, who was attempting to leg out an infield single during the third inning. The Royals will take a closer look at their first baseman in the clubhouse and should offer an update on his status relatively soon.

Wade was diagnosed with a Grade 2 left hamstring strain Tuesday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

The Giants placed Wade on the injured list earlier Tuesday, but the team expects him to be sidelined for roughly a month now that the severity of his strain has been revealed. In the meantime, Wilmer Flores and Trenton Brooks will likely split time at first base, though neither player is likely to replace Wade's .333/.470/.426 slash line.

Wade (hamstring) was placed on the 10-day injured list Tuesday.

The 30-year-old returned to the lineup Monday against the Phillies after he suffered the hamstring injury over the weekend, but he aggravated the issue and will miss at least the next week and a half. Wade has been one of the more surprisingly productive players in MLB through the first two months of the season with a .333/.470/.426 slash line through 52 games.

Brewers manager Pat Murphy said Tuesday that Hoskins (hamstring) ran on the field and is progressing in his running program, and it's possible the first baseman returns from the injured list early next week in Philadelphia, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

The 31-year-old landed on the shelf May 14 with a strained right hamstring, and he's now ramping up his rehab work after a brief shutdown period. A return for the Phillies series is likely an enticing target for Hoskins, considering he'd spent his entire MLB career in Philadelphia before signing with the Brewers in January.

Gallo is absent from the lineup for Tuesday's game in Atlanta.

Gallo had started 10 straight games since returning from the injured list, but he will begin Tuesday's game on the bench as Atlanta goes with Max Fried as its starting pitcher. Joey Meneses will cover first base.

Mountcastle is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against Boston.

After making five straight starts, Mountcastle will take a seat Tuesday. The first baseman has generated a hit in six straight games, going 11-for-25 (.440) with five runs scored and four doubles. Ryan O'Hearn will play first base and bat third while Kyle Stowers fills the DH spot and bats seventh.

Abreu went 1-for-3 with an RBI on Monday against the Mariners.

Abreu was back in the lineup for the first time in a month and hit eighth while playing first base. He had a rough start to the game defensively, misplaying a line drive off the bat of J.P. Crawford. However, Abreu made up for that with an RBI single in the fifth frame. The Astros seemingly plan to give Abreu regular run at first base, though he'll still need to outperform Jon Singleton unless they're willing to play Yordan Alvarez more regularly in left field at the expense of Chas McCormick.

Montero went 1-for-3 with two RBI, a run scored and a walk in Monday's 8-6 win over the Guardians.

Montero had been limited to a short-side platoon role since the return of Kris Bryant from the injured list, but he's started both of Colorado's games since Jordan Beck (hand) landed on the shelf. Beck's absence allows the Rockies to play Charlie Blackmon in right field and shift Kris Bryant to designated hitter, opening first base for Montero. However, Jake Cave and Hunter Goodman also remain options for the Rockies in right field, so consistent plate appearances are far from assured for Montero.

Goldschmidt went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Monday's 3-1 loss to the Reds.

Goldschmidt has homered three times over his last two games, though it's still too early to say he's completely out of the woods for his slow start to the campaign. He's shown some encouraging signs, hitting safely in all but one of his last 14 games while going 18-for-61 (.295) in that span. The first baseman is up to seven homers, 22 RBI, 26 runs scored and three stolen bases with a .222/.297/.359 slash line over 50 contests this season. Despite his recent success, he's striking out at a 31.5 percent clip and has struck out 32 times over 21 games in May.
