Colorado State's plan to hire Ernie Kent has been blocked by a high-ranking administrator and the school's coaching search is now back on, a source told CBSSports.com on Wednesday.

"It was done and somebody vetoed it," a source said. "Now Ernie is out."

CBSSports.com reported late Tuesday that Colorado State and Kent had reached a deal in principle, after which Coloradoan.com reported that a source at the school told it Kent had been hired, too. But a source told CBSSports.com on Wednesday that an administrator stepped in late and essentially blocked Kent's hire from happening "for some reason," and that Miss" data-canon="Southern Jaguars" data-type="SPORTS_OBJECT_TEAM" id="shortcode0"> coach Larry Eustachy is back involved and considered the leading candidate.

Colorado State is looking to replace Tim Miles.

He left last month to replace Doc Sadler at Nebraska.
