Here's the latest on the ACC's top players who are projected to go from playing on Saturdays to starring on Sundays.

1. DE Bjoern Werner, 6-4, 255, Florida State

Why he has the top spot: Werner did not fill the stat sheet last Thursday at Virginia Tech. He only had two tackles and a pass breakup. Werner is second in the ACC with eight sacks and fourth in tackles for loss (12.5)

Season stats (10 games): 29 tackles, 8 sacks, 12.5 tackles for loss, forced fumble, 6 pass breakups.

Player ranking: Werner is ranked No. 8 overall and is the top defensive end in CBSSports.com's latest player rankings.

Up next: Florida State plays at Maryland on Saturday. Because of injuries the Terrapins have LB Shawn Petty at quarterback. If the Seminoles allow double-digit points this weekend, it will be a surprise.

2. DE Cornellius Carradine, 6-5, 265, Florida State

Why he has the second spot: Carradine was the best player on the field last Thursday in Blacksburg. He was all over the place and had a team-high 11 tackles. Carradine also had a sack, giving him the league lead with nine. For the year, Carradine is tied for the team lead with 64 tackles, which is remarkable for a defensive end. He also leads the team with eight quarterback hurries.

Season stats (10 games): 64 tackles, 9 sacks, 10 tackles for loss, forced fumble.

Player ranking: Carradine is ranked No. 45 overall and is the No. 7 defensive end in CBSSports.com's latest player rankings.

Up next: Florida State plays at Maryland on Saturday. The Terrapins managed just 180 total yards in their 45-10 loss at Clemson last week.

3. CB David Amerson, 6-3, 194, NC State

Why he has the third spot: Amerson had two tackles and a pass break up in a 37-6 win over Wake Forest. He helped hold the Demon Deacons to 185 total yards. Amerson also helped limit Wake Forest WR Michael Campanaro to five catches for 14 yards. Amerson is tied for second in the league with four interceptions and is sixth in the ACC with 10 passes defended.

Season stats (10 games): 40 tackles, 0.5 tackles for loss, 4 interceptions.

Player ranking: Amerson is No. 40 overall and is the No. 4 cornerback in CBSSports.com's latest player rankings.

Up next: NC State plays at Clemson this week. Amerson will be tested by Clemson’s talented wide receivers DeAndre Hopkins and Sammy Watkins.

Keep an eye on: WR Corey Fuller, 6-2, 196, Virginia Tech

Why you should watch him: Fuller was nowhere to be found on draft boards before the season. Fuller ran track at Kansas before transferring to Virginia Tech in 2010 to walk on for football. He had two catches for 19 yards as a junior in 2011 but is having a breakout year in 2012. He really opened eyes against Florida State’s rugged defense last week with seven receptions for 124 yards and a score.

Season stats (10 games): 36 catches, 671 yards, 5 touchdowns.

Player ranking: Fuller is ranked No. 240 overall and the No. 30 wide receiver in CBSSports.com's latest player rankings.

Up next: Virginia Tech plays at Boston College. The Eagles' defense has struggled, allowing 471 yards per game.
