Jim Harbaugh always has a little trick up his sleeve, wanting to keep opposing coaches guessing throughout the week and even on gameday.
For example, Harbaugh refused to announce his starting quarterback for the season up until his team took the field for the first snap against Hawaii this year.
So when Michigan broke the huddle against Wisconsin on Saturday and lined up like this, it was surprising -- and not -- at the same time.

Before we go any further, no, this is not a legal formation and, no, they did not snap the ball like this.
Michigan broke the huddle like this before heading into the more traditional I-formation. It might have been effective too, as the Wolverines picked up a first down on the play.
