Utah junior quarterback Travis Wilson was cited on an underage alcohol charge at a Salt Lake City concert Friday night, the Associated Press reported.

Per the AP, the Utah Department of Public Safety issued a statement Saturday saying Wilson had been charged with possession or consumption of alcohol by a minor, cited, and released on scene.

"We are still in the process of gathering information on the incident," Kyle Whittingham in a statement, per the Salt Lake Tribune. "Once we have all the facts, we will handle the situation internally and determine any disciplinary action that should be taken."

The 20-year-old Wilson is expected to be the Utes' starting quarterback in 2014, having started 16 games over the previous two seasons before a head injury cut short his 2013 campaign after 1,827 passing yards, 386 rushing yards and 16 passing touchdowns. Wilson was given full medical clearance to return to the Utes in June.

Utah opens its season Thursday, Aug. 28, at home against Idaho State.
