After hitting under .200 at both the Triple-A and major-league levels last season, it seemed like an uphill battle for Hanson to secure an Opening Day roster spot with Seattle. With minor-league baseball likely canceled for the 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Hanson may not have an opportunity to play baseball in a major-league organization this year, barring a late addition to another squad.
