Angels manager Ron Washington said Thursday that Trout will bat third this season, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
Trout has traditionally hit either second or third and spent most of his time in the two-hole last season. However, that spot will be occupied by Nolan Schanuel to open 2024, with Trout providing protection. Anthony Rendon is expected to follow Trout in the cleanup spot.
