Rodriguez will start the Astros' second Grapefruit League contest Friday against St. Louis, Jose de Jesus Ortiz of the Houston Chronicle reports.
The 37-year-old southpaw will need a standout camp with the Astros to make the Opening Day roster, as Dallas Keuchel, Lance McCullers, Collin McHugh, Scott Feldman and Doug Fister are the favorites to open 2016 in Houston's starting rotation. There's also Mike Fiers, who made 30 starts between Milwaukee and Houston last year. Rodriguez made 17 appearances (15 starts) with Texas last season, going 4-3 with an unimpressive 4.61 ERA and 1.40 WHIP over 86.1 innings.
