McGee was designated for assignment by the Brewers on Sunday.
McGee signed with Milwaukee just after the All-Star break but surrendered four earned runs with a 4:1 K:BB across 5.2 innings. The left-hander has a 7.00 ERA and 1.52 WHIP over 30 appearances between his stints with the Giants and Brewers this year.
