Gyorko has been traded to the Cardinals, Jenifer Langosch of MLB.com reports.

Jon Morosi of Fox Sports first reported that a deal was close between the two clubs, and Jon Jay appears to be headed to the Padres as the return. Gyorko hit .259/.299/.440 with 13 homers in the second half of last season for the Padres, and it seems as though he'll be used as a utility option around the infield at all four spots with Matt Carpenter, Jhonny Peralta, and Kolten Wong occupying third base, shortstop, and second base, respectively. Gyorko is under contract for four more seasons (through 2019) at a total cost of $32 million, so the Padres are freeing up money by making this deal.
