Lynn will end his rehab assignment and likely conclude his season, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
The difficult decision was made when it was determined Lynn would not be able to effectively contribute in the majors this season. After undergoing Tommy John Surgery in November, the 29-year-old made three minor league rehab starts and had shown steady progression in his recovery. However, Lynn emphasized that his focus was to prepare for a healthy 2017 season instead of rushing back to the mound.
