The 28-year-old extended his modest hitting streak to four games and was only one of two Cardinals hitters to get on base twice in what was a dominating effort by Jake Arrieta. Adams has endured an injury-shortened second half of the season, but is just two homers short of equaling the career-best 17 he hit in 2013.
