Ravelo signed a minor-league contract with the Cardinals on Monday, Matt Eddy of Baseball America reports.
Ravelo has boasted solid plate discipline and contact skills throughout the minor leagues, but his power numbers leave a lot to be desired from a first baseman. Given the presence of Matt Carpenter and Matt Adams in St. Louis, Ravelo will most likely serve as organizational depth for the Cardinals.
