Diamondbacks' Braden Shipley: Will be promoted to start Monday

Shipley will start Monday against the Brewers, Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic reports.

All signs pointed to Shipley making his major league debut in Milwaukee, as he was scratched from his scheduled start for Triple-A Reno on Sunday. A first-round pick in 2013 and the top prospect in the Diamondbacks' organization, Shipley has gone 8-5 with a 3.70 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 77:22 K:BB in 19 starts (119.1 innings) for Triple-A Reno this season. His biggest step forward has been with his control, as Shipley has shaved his BB/9 to 1.7 from 3.2 at Double-A Mobile a year ago.
