Span (thumb) returned to the starting lineup and went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Wednesday's loss to the Cubs.
This is now the second time in two weeks that the veteran outfielder has hit a homer in the first game returning from injury. In fact, all three of his long balls this season have come in those two weeks since returning from the disabled list. Span is worth an add if he was dropped due to his minor thumb injury, as he appears to be one of the select few Giants seeing the ball well these days.
