Watson was placed on the 10-day injured list with a left shoulder strain Thursday, retroactive to Sept. 29.
Watson had posted a 1.50 ERA and 0.50 WHIP in six innings across his last six relief appearances, but he apparently sustained a shoulder injury in his most recent outing and will be sidelined for the remainder of the regular season. The severity of the issue isn't yet clear, and whether he could be available as a postseason reliever remains to be seen.
