Mariners' Norichika Aoki: Sitting Tuesday

Aoki is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Rays, Ryan Divish of the Seattle Times reports.

Aoki is hitting just .229, and the Mariners are trotting out a righty-heavy lineup against southpaw Drew Smyly, so the outfielder will head to the bench. Franklin Gutierrez will get the start in left field in his place and bat second Tuesday.
